Portofino, Italy 7/3/24

Portofino, Italy Not being familiar with Portofino, we really did not have any specific expectations.  However, it did not disappoint at all.  It was a charming, quaint little village, with the yachts to go with it.  Not inexpensive but we would love to come back to visit for more than a day. We took a trip to Santa Margherita Ligure and what a charming city it was.  This is the Villa Albi hotel, one of the high-end places to stay there. The Basilica of Santa Maria - Santa Margharita Checkout the hot tub on the yacht!  and the slide! This is Hannibal's bridge in Rapallo Italy, one of the cities we visited today. Great lunch today.  Perfect for us... The countryside as we drove through the different towns This was a small church that is normally closed, but the caretaker allowed us in to see the beautiful crucifixes and crosses. Even their bandstands are beautifully decorated. Santa Margharita, Rapallo, and Portofino - 3 amazing cities to visit and come back to.  Our last port in I

Florence (Cinque Terra), Italy 7/2/24

Cinque Terra, Italy We have been fortunate enough to have visited the city of Florence quite a few times, seen David, the Domo, the Uffizi, visited Pisa, Sienna, and San Gimiano.  We opted to head to Cinque Terra - we have been before, but wanted to visit it again, so off we went to 3 of the 5 cities.  A boat ride, several walks around each city, great lunch and wonderful wines.  Enjoy the pictures. Another spectacular day - we absolutely enjoyed our day here.  So glad we decided to come back....an extraordinary picture-perfect view. On to Portofino, our last stop in Italy.

Rome, Italy 7/1/24

Rome, Italy Rome was our last World Wonder excursion; Mickey went out for the day in the morning.  I had planned on meeting him for the afternoon, but frankly, the trip is catching up with me with the constant excursions, and the heat was almost record breaking.  The excursion was to the Colisseum, which I have been to many times, and so I stayed on the ship and relaxed (got a massage) while he headed into the city. Mickey at the lunch provided by Royal Caribbean Villa Borghese - we have been there in the past; these pictures are from a fellow cruiser who went this time.  If you are ever in Rome, I highly suggest a visit here. Another day in the books, on to Florence, Italy tomorrow
