Christmas Day and Crossing the Equator 12/25/23

Missing the family and friends and all the holiday celebrations.  So glad we were able to see all of our kids and grandkids before we took off on this once in a lifetime adventure.  At sea all day today, here is a recap of Christmas......



At 9 am, we crossed the equator - actually crossed it three times as our captain circled around - pretty cool.  We are now officially shellbacks and the ship celebrated with a King Neptune ceremony that was a lot of fun...

Good morning all.... As we finalize details, the reality of this amazing adventure is upon us!!  I hope you follow along with us on our world journey and enjoy the amazing experiences ahead for Mickey and I!! We are currently in Missouri, heading to Clinton for our visit to celebrate early Christmas with Kulani, Jared, Gary, Varina and Oren, then on to St Charles with Kevin, Danielle, Autumn and Andy. Brittany is going to sneak in for a few days, so we get a great send off from our whole family. Back to Naples on December 5th, two action packed days saying goodbye to friends and then off to Miami  December 8th for the big Gala party hosted by Royal Caribbean for all full world cruisers.  It does not seem possible that our departure date is almost upon us -  only 16 days to go!!! December 10th is our set sail date and the journey begins.

Los Angeles CA 2/11/24

  Los Angeles, CA The first segment of this world journey Around the Horn, ended today., and we are not tired of being on our ship yet.... Upon reflection it has been an incredible experience, hard to pick a favorite stop, but I am going with Antarctica first, Iguazu Falls and then the almost Machu Picchu experience...Rio and the fireworks were amazing as were all of the other ports we got to visit.  While the blog takes a lot of time, it is nice to revisit memories of this once in a lifetime journey.  After a great first segment, we landed back in the US.  Needed to go through customs - regardless of whether you wanted to get off ship or not - we originally were to meet Donna and Joe Pagano for lunch, as we had not seen them in quite a while, but schedules did not work out, so we missed them.  We will have to plan a get together in the future.  We took advantage of our short port time to stock up on some supplies and did a run to Costco, Best Buy...
